on all usermatching systems, how about implementing regex matching.
So, instead of:
tHINGLES!*thingles@disserv.stu.umn.edu
tHINGLES!*thingles@duncan.stu.umn.edu
tHINGLES!*thingles@amug.org
there could be one entry:
tHING.*\!.*thingles\@(.*\.stu\.umn\.edu|amug\.org)
which is more accurate and flexible.
The source for regex could be lifted from the GNU sed source or use
the regcmp libraries.
